Relocation Services

Why hire a relocation specialist? What is the difference?
If you think about it, there is a big difference. If you are moving to Charleston (a very diverse area with significant differences in each of the varying towns) you need to learn those differences. As someone who moved from Southern California, believe me, I understand the significance of this. You can't expect someone who has lived here the majority of their adult life to understand what a huge move this is for you. If they can't understand that, how can they truly provide you with the top notch service that you deserve?|
My family was in the process of transitioning from Seattle, Washington
We also took their advice and let them find and interview realtors in Seattle. I cannot recommend "Those Ingram's" enough!

Unfortunately, the vast majority of real estate agents live in a bowl. They have been here so long that they cannot relate to someone not needing to live in a $2 million dollar historic home with no parking. It doesn't make sense to them for you to buy a larger, better quality home a little bit further out for less money because a 20 minute drive to work is not such a big deal to someone from an area where they are used to commuting 45 minutes in heavy traffic. They may not understand your need to build a home in the country or on the intracoastal waterway. They may be so used to historic homes, that they cannot relate to the fact that you want an updated newer home with little or no hassles. Perhaps you are an avid boater or want to walk out onto beach everday. You may not care about being near water. The bottom line, is that you need someone who can understand your needs and address them.
Having all of your belongs crammed into a U-Haul is nerve wracking. I have moved across country 3 times. I know this all too well. That is why you hire a relocation specialist to address your needs, find you the perfect home, help you find someone qualified to sell your own home (if it is out of the area), facilitate both transactions and make sure they are seamless, and get you moved into your new home with the fewest amount of problems possible. That is why you hire Those Ingrams.
I am a Relocation Specialist for Carolina One Real Estate and long distance moves are what I specialize in. I realize that if you are in another area, you may not be up to date with the real estate market here. The lowcountry is very dynamic and there are a lot of diverse areas. First, contact us and I would be happy to send out a relocation kit (free to you) that includes:
- A video presentation that illustrate what the different areas have to offer.
- School information
- A current Buyer's Guide with all ofCarolina One's current listings.
- Area information.
- An area map.
- Financing information.
This should answer some questions you may have about what the different areas of the low country have to offer. Go to our Local Resources page to find additional helpful information on the area. I will email you properties based on whatever guidelines you give me. If you determine a few properties that you like, I will be happy to view them and make a virtual tour for you. I can email that to you to give you a better idea of what the properties entail.
When you decide to come to Charleston, I will be happy to help coordinate your visit and show you the properties of interest. If you cannot make it down and the perfect property comes available, I will be happy to video the property and if need be, we can make an offer contingent upon your visual inspection in person. I have done this before and been very successful with this. We want to help you find the perfect home and facilitate that purchase. Whatever it takes.
Once we determine which home you like and ratify a contract, I will take care of all the necessary inspections and appraisals to make sure you are getting a sound buy. I will coordinate your closing for you and take care of all areas of concern.
As a Relocation Specialist, I am also able to help coordinate your move out here with the sale of your existing property. It is important to have a qualified realtor on both ends working for you. We have a staff of people who's sole job is to research, find, interview, and hire qualified relocation specialists in all other areas of the country. This service is FREE TO OUR CLIENTS! You tell us about the property to be sold and what type of person you would feel the most comfortable working with and we will find that person for you and interview them on your behalf. We will give you our opinion and if you like what we have found then we will put them in contact with you. If it turns out that the realtor is not a good match, we will fire them for you and find someone else. Our goal is to make sure that you get the same quality service that you would get with us.
We will then work with your "other" agent to coordinate your two transactions and make the process as stress-free as possible. I wish we knew about this when we moved out from California in 2001. We had a lot of problems and a lack of communication between the parties "working" for us. That is the main reason we got into real estate and is why I specialize in relocations.
